“Credentialed to Love”

 Philippians 3: 10-21

Dramatic presentation:

     The Warp and the Weave

Life is made up of many threads, many interlacements of plan and chance.  Through all the choices, calls and enticements presented to us, we seek to follow Christ. Armed with love as our guide, may our lives reflect the love we have known.

  NEWS UPDATES!

Inquiring New Members Class Have you thought about becoming a member of the church?  Some of you are as involved as if you were members!  The pastor is inviting any one who would like to know more about what  membership entails, or who feel ready to join the church to meet with her on October 7 and 14 at 7:00 pm. We will have two meetings: 1) to review what it means to be a United Methodist, some history and background  and 2) what it means to be a part of this congregation in particular.  This class does not commit you to becoming a member, but is necessary if you’d like to join.  Let the office know if you would like to participate.

Empty Bowls Luncheon Thursday October 16th the Wayfarer Center will be holding their 3rd annual Empty Bowls soup lunch.  Seating will be at 11:30 and 12:30 right here in the Fellowship Hall.  Guests will choose a handmade bowl and partake of a soup lunch.  The bowl is a reminder of those whose bowls are empty.  There will be an auction of specialty bowls highlighting local artists.  Tickets are available at the Yolo Wayfarer Center and Corner Drug and cost $25.

Disciple Bible Study 4, Under the Tree of Life Sign-ups are in the Fellowship Hall.  Class starts on the 14th of October at 7:00. This is a thirty-two-week study prepared for graduates of BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY.  UNDER THE TREE OF LIFE concentrates on the writings in the Old Testament – Ruth, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel. New Testament Scriptures include the Gospel of John; 1, 2, and 3 John; James; Jude; and Revelation.
