Ministry Opportunities

We have a multitude of opportunities for you to serve yourself, your church, and your community!

Do you like books?  Perhaps our Library team would pique your interest.  Maybe you have a flair for design?  How about checking out our Worship Environment Team?  Do you knit or crochet?  How about sewing?  You might be interested in joining the Prayer Shawl Ministry, or the Quilters.  Maybe you like public speaking.  Being a Liturgist might be right up your alley.  Do you make a great cup of coffee?  Then we could use your help on Sunday mornings because we go through a whole lot of it!

There is no job too big or too small in the Woodland UMC.  There is a place for everyone!

This is also a great opportunity for your teens to get some of those much-needed community service hours!

Check out some of the ministries below and see what strikes your interest.

Adult Education and Small Group Leaders

Members of this team are trained in leading classes and small groups and will help facilitate our growing number of small group experiences.

Amnesty International

Since 1982, our church has participated in Amnesty International's (AI) Urgent Action Network.  On the fourth Sunday of every month, members of the congregation are given the opportunity to write letters on behalf of an individual or group somewhere in the world whose human rights are being violated.  The Amnesty Ministry Team educates the congregation regarding the various cases and assists people with the writing of original letters, or the signing of pre-printed letters addressed to governmental officials on behalf of the prisoners.

For more information on Amnesty International, see their website: http://www.amnestyusa.org/
